Youngsters get to enjoy the great outdoors:
FAMILIES have flocked to a nature reserve near Castle Cary this summer.
The centre, off Dimmer Lane, is hosting a number of outdoor educational sessions for youngsters and their parents to enjoy.
The events, held every Wednesday this month, include wildlife-themed crafts, discovery sessions and games.
Juliet Lawn, education officer of Carymoor Environmental Trust, said: "Wild Wednesdays at Carymoor are rapidly becoming a fixed feature in many families' school holiday diaries.
"Children have been thrilled by seeing the bees and holding a slow worm.
Established 15 years ago, the centre specialises in environmental education for people of all ages.
It is home to a variety of wildlife, including roe deer, more than 30 species of birds and 32 different species of butterfly.
